Gratitude, Continuing Education & The Women’s March

To My Dearest Community of Creative Game-Changers,

I would like to welcome our newest subscribers to!

We have three major items on the agenda for today’s post:

  1. Gratitude
  2. Continuing Education for LCATs
  3. The #WomensMarch

So, let’s dive in!

First, I’d like to give a big high-five  to all the amazing individuals that came out for our workshop, Shamanic Journeying Through the Chakras. Kristen Boyer and I had a full house with nearly 30 attendees!

We also got some great feedback and testimonials:

The meditation led by Briana, walking through the chakras, was amazing and I was really able to fall into it. The memories and images, sensations and thoughts that came up for me were very moving and at times, emotional.

-Anonymous, 24

Such an amazing experience. I’d love to and am trying to be open to alternative ways of thinking, believing and spiritual practices, and this was a great start and stepping stone!

-Niloofar Alishahi, 31

Its always great to connect deeper to myself and with my guides. Journeying with Kristen is always a life changing experience and it was great to meet Briana as well. Briana’s journey through the Chakras was unlike anything I had done before. Very inspiring. Can’t wait to see what these powerful ladies do together!

-Lorenna G.Sanchez, 31

For those of you who were not able to make it to our workshop, Kristen and I have collaborated on a series of courses (or a packaged bundle) on healing through the chakras that will be made available (and count for continuing education contact hours for LCATs in New York State) in the coming months.

Stay tuned for updates!

Continuing Education for LCATs

For those of you that may not be aware, has become a New York State Provider for Continuing Education for Licensed Creative arts Therapists, as of January 9th, 2017.

Yay! So grateful for the opportunity to serve and learn from this amazing community!

There are probably a few questions regarding this subject (I have certainly heard a few grumbles) and so I hope to afford some clarity.

To start, I’d like to bust a few myths regarding continuing education:

1. Continuing Education is inconvenient and inaccessible for LCATs. hopes to change all that. It is our mission to provide convenient and accessible continuing education through monthly live events in the form of webinars, as well as through self-study. To access continuing education, all you need is a computer and the Internet! (Or a smart phone.)

2. Continuing education lacks advanced practices for LCATs.

It is the mission of to explore innovative approaches that are well-researched and incorporate current trends. We also hope to support collaborations with a variety of modalities, and deliver dynamic, high-quality content. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, click here. We’d love to hear your idea!

3. Continuing education is too expensive.

At, any course costing over $100 has the option of a payment plan. We will also be running monthly “launches,” which will highlight specific course material in a weekly newsletter, offering the full course at a discounted rate, for that month.

Furthermore, while continuing education may feel like a growing pain, it is also a wonderfully ripe opportunity to come together as a community and support each other in our collective professional development and identity. And that’s really exciting!

Alright, you get it!

But now, you’re probably wondering about our inventory, yes?

  • To see a brief summary of our currently available self-studies, you can click here.
  • To see a calendar for upcoming webinars, you can click here.

The exact dates and times for our webinars will be posted to the website homepage, as well as emailed via this newsletter, once the registration links become available. (So make sure we don’t fall into spam!)

Additionally, we are interested in building a COMMUNITY for creative arts therapists. So, if you have a topic you would like to share as a co-presenter, either by webinar or as a self-study, please submit a proposal form, which you can view and download here.

The #WomensMarch

Speaking of community, I couldn’t send this newsletter  without a brief word on the stunning show of solidarity and community displayed by marchers ALL OVER THE WORLD this weekend.

And while American politics may have galvanized this kind of GLOBAL response, what the world witnessed of ITSELF this weekend stems deeply into the earth, into Spirit,  and into our sense of what it means to be human.

I was so blessed to be a part of it, along with other Pratt Faculty members in Washington DC, and I just wanted to share my favorite moment with the all female drummers, below!

Here’s the link:

As always, if you have any further questions, comments or concerns you can reply directly to this email or you can reach me at

And don’t be shy. We love hearing from you!
Warmest Regards,

Briana MacWilliam ATR-BC, LCAT
